Our Generation has placed massive importance to our online presence than ever before. Primarily, it allows us to connect with friends and loved ones; however, contrary to its goal, relationships have never felt more separated; Human connection has never felt more artificial. Inundated with posts after posts of everyone else's successes and not tribulations, we collectively lift the standards, inflating it unreasonably. The prevalence of being chronically online has warped our perception of perfection. We're born to paint the world with the same expectations and standards as our predecessors. By default, we exist to fulfil our roles perfectly and without question.

Existing by Default aims to subvert these tropes of expectation and perfection. By presenting diverse narratives and experiences, the group visualizes the beauty in the flaws of human nature. In spite of unrealistic standards, it is through difficulties, imperfection, and trials that we define our existence. Though we exist beyond our choosing, hence by default, we can frow beyond our expectations by learning to accept our flaws. The exhibit proposes that the real perfection does not exist in the flawlessness of our goals but by the imperfect process of our being.

The exhibition is visualized by the 7-member art collective, Bangkito. Through vastly different styles and perspectives, the exhibition serves as a symbolic unification of each of the members pursuit in the acceptance of human imperfection amid societal expectations.
